Knowing Him

“You search and investigate and pore over the Scriptures diligently, because you suppose and trust that you have eternal life through them. And these [very Scriptures] testify about Me! And still you are not willing [but refuse] to come to Me, so that you might have life.” (John 5:39-40)

Christ wants you to enjoy a personal relationship with Him, where you can hear His voice clearly, know His plans for your life and where you experience His love, joy and peace. Such a wonderful, intimate relationship is not only possible, but His desire for every believer. In the scriptures we see that we are sons in the house of the Father and we are the bride of Christ.

I have one son and the love I feel for him is difficult to explain in words. It is a love that is so unconditional and great that I feel in my heart for him. Although he is a boy, I can’t help but I just have to hug him and kiss him, because I love him so much. The love that I have for my wife is a different type of love, but it is the very same in intensity.

God loves you very much. As I reflected on how much I love my wife Clarissa, and my son Christiaan, the Lord said to me “I love you more…”
“See what [an incredible] quality of love the Father has given (shown, bestowed on) us, that we should [be permitted to] be named and called and counted the children of God! And so we are! The reason that the world does not know (recognise, acknowledge) us is that it does not know (recognise, acknowledge) Him.” (1 John 3:1)

“In this is love: not that we loved God, but that He loved us and sent His Son to be the propitiation (the atoning sacrifice) for our sins.” (1 John 4:10)

Just let Him love you today.
