Then He showed me the river whose waters give life, sparkling like crystal, flowing out from the throne of God and of the Lamb. – Revelation 22:1 (AMP)
I once had a vision from God where I was standing, facing Jesus and to my side was the world (people I minister to). As I beheld Jesus, he poured water over me and the water flowed over me and into a cup that I was holding out to the people next to me. These living waters ministered to me personally and it also ministered to the needs of the world as I held the cup out to them. As long as I looked to Jesus the water flowed, but the moment I looked to myself, the flow of water stopped. God explained the vision and said that when we look to ourselves, we do not experience the free supply of the water of His Spirit, but when our eyes are on Him the living waters changes us and the lives of the people around us.
The thing that people need is the living waters of Jesus that brings life. If they get it, it brings them the healing they need in their bodies, it gives them the joy and peace they need, and it also restores their lives to wholeness. Living waters is the Holy Spirit and in Him is EVERYTHING we need. The world out there says there are many solutions, that every problem must have its own solution. But God’s way of solving problems looks different than the world’s way of trying to solve problems. God helps us by supplying us with His Spirit/Living waters. You might feel that the solution is too easy. It might leave you thinking; “Is this really the ‘thing’ that is going to set me free and help me with EVERY single problem I have?” According to the word of God, the answer is YES! All you need is the living waters of His Spirit! Jesus said, “But whoever takes a drink of the water that I will give him shall never, no never, be thirsty any more. But the water that I will give him shall become a spring of water welling up (flowing, bubbling) [continually] within him unto (into, for) eternal life” (John 4:14). Allowing these waters to touch our lives is as simple as looking away from ourselves unto Jesus as the Bible instructs us to do. Hebrews 12 verse 1 says, “looking away [from all that will distract] to Jesus, Who is the Leader and the Source of our faith [giving the first incentive for our belief] and is also it’s Finisher [bringing it to maturity and perfection].”
The Christian life is a selfless life that centres around Jesus. For Him it is all about you, but for you it’s all about Him and others. Those who lose their life will find it, those who try and keep their lives will lose it. In other words, if you try to make yourself happy and you focus on yourself, you will not be able to find true joy, peace, healing and all the things you desire. Your part is looking away from yourself and it is His joy and privilege to supply you with His living waters.
You will find your whole life restored to perfection and the lives of people around you, as you receive the water of His marvelous Holy Spirit.
