About the ministry
Our vision is Jesus Christ and our purpose is to preach the gospel and bring life and healing to all people.
The message that we preach puts the emphasis on the finished work of the cross that reveals what Christ accomplished for us, and who we now are because of what He had done. Hearing this message of grace has the power to transform people into the very image of Christ, which empowers them to do His works – living the Christ life!
Abundant Grace Ministries has a full time team that has a great passion to preach the gospel to the world. Every person here gave up their occupation to be part of this vision and is fulfilling important roles in the ministry. We are blessed to have these people on our team.
Where it started
Abundant Grace Ministries was birthed out of a passion and intimate relationship that Pastor Marnes Nel experienced with Jesus Christ. In 2003 Pastor Marnes Nel started the ministry, with a great evangelistic approach. He rented halls in the community and held healing meetings where he preached the good news of the gospel and miracles took place in every meeting. He went to the hospitals on a regular basis, to heal the sick and to demonstrate the love of God. He also rented a house, with the heart that sick people would come to the house and be healed.
There was a great hunger for Christ that exploded among the people that attended his meetings. He held Healing Schools and taught the people to minister healing to the sick. The young people who were attending these meetings took what they received into the community, praying for people in the shops, on the streets and wherever the opportunity presented itself.
Marnes & Clarissa
Pastor Marnes Nel is the founder and Senior Pastor of Abundant Grace Ministries based in
South Africa. Pastor Marnes and Clarissa has a passion to establish people in the grace of
God and to equip and empower people to actively reach their communities with the gospel
and power of God. The simplicity of the gospel, the love and grace of Jesus Christ and the
finished work of the cross, has been the foundation of their ministry.
Pastor Marnes and Clarissa really has a heart to be found at the feet of Jesus, being like a
tree planted by the streams of living water, and that everything they do will flow from this
union and communion with Christ.
Psalm 27:4 “One thing I ask from the LORD, this only do I seek: that I may dwell in the house
of the LORD all the days of my life, to gaze on the beauty of the LORD and to seek him in his
temple.”
They believe that Jesus Christ should always be a believers’ ultimate vision in life, as seen in
Hebrews 12 v 2; “Looking away from all that will distract, unto Jesus.”
The heart of the ministry is to see all people receive Jesus Christ as their Lord and Saviour, for every sickness to be healed and for believers to mature in Christ.
